The Big One – Part 11
The trunk is finished, finally! I think that it was the longest part of the painting. I can now concentrate on the rest of the body of the elephant. But before that, I have two things to do: the tusks.
The Big One – Part 10
After a long, long pause I came back this weekend on the Elephant. For those who discovered the beast for the first time, I invite them to follow the evolution step by step of the painting starting from the beginning here.
The Big One – Part 9
“The Big One” is progressing slowly. I finally got through a step : to down a notch my scaffolding
This is not nothing!
Here’s a short video taken this weekend:
I think that from now it will go much faster, most of crackelings of the tube is finished, I will work on folds, which are much easier to do.
The more complicated here, is to keep the same color, a uniform tone, along with a large period of execution , especially when certain colors appear less bleak when drying.

2m50 high and 2m wide … (8¼’ x 6½’)
Following the advice of artist friends, I ordered the canvas in Marin’s, French canvas specialist, who could make a canvas strong enough to carry its own weight without warping or twisting. Delivery delay : 5 weeks …
Well I have to admit that when they delivered the canvas at home, , it would obviously not fit in my small workshop, that is why he sits in the dining room, which is the only piece to have sufficient height.
Now, I juste have to fix it on the wall …
See you …
