Alexandre-François Desportes, Wildlife painter of the King
For the first time in its history, Versailles organize an exhibition about King Louis XIV from October 20th 2009 to February 7th, 2010.
The exhibition Louis XIV, the man and the king brings together over 300 exceptional works from collections around the world, and never met until today. Paintings, sculptures, Art objects and furniture will be exposed. These masterpieces, some never presented in France from the Ancien Regime, allow the public to better know the famous monarch through his personal tastes than his public image.
