Description
Stéphane Alsac is a hyper-realistic contemporary painter. His paintings, most often oil paintings, represent animals with an astonishing realism close to photography. The idea is not to reproduce a photo, but to sublimate the animal and make it “Truer than life”. Most often, a painting comes from an idea, an inspiration. It cmes first with a quick sketch that lays the foundation for the future painting : the composition, the colors, but especially the feeling and the message that emerges from it. Then, I will look for the photographic support that will serve me as a reference either in my own photos or with friends photographers. The work of composition begins. For the painting “A Disrupted Nap”, I wanted a scene from the life of a “Pride”, a family of a lion. I did not have a precise idea, but I was looking for a universal message, a father and son relationship. The composition is triangular, with a line of force signified by the lion’s mane and the lion cub’s left paw. This line is enhanced by the light in the mane. the interaction is between the two cubs that play, the reaction of the father comes to energize this quiet scene at the end of the day. Finally, the painting is practically monochrome, the lion’s head catch the eye, by its light and its open mouth. I like this atmosphere of dawn, with this contrast between the cold tones and the warm tones of the light. You want to immortalize a moment, a memory of hunting or Safari, you can commission a Original Painting of the size which suits you and in the style of painting that you like. Contact Stéphane Alsac to discuss with him your draft table. He will define with you the animal subject meeting your expectations which will sublimate your interior.
