Before the painting, there is the hand.
Every painting from the Atelier begins with hours in the field — sketchbook open, pencil in hand, eyes fixed on the animal. These studies are not mere sketches: they capture the spontaneity of line and the raw testimony of gesture. To acquire an original drawing is to enter the intimacy of this research, to stand almost behind the artist and watch him create. On the matte paper, hesitations remain visible — the searching of lines, the unretouched revisions — precious scars that tell the truth of the encounter.
Alongside a few original drawings from my field sketchbooks, my art prints offer a way to experience these studies in a more intimate format. Printed on watercolor-grain paper, these signed, limited editions perfectly capture every nuance of the original pencil work and the delicacy of the line.
